We all feel so helpless.

Thats how everyone feels right now, we would all love Auntie Rita to get better, but it’s not going to happen sadly. Saw my Auntie Rita yesterday, when we went over to pick up my Nan for some more shopping. Auntie Rita is now in a coma like condition with the drugs they are giving her. Auntie Rita has 3 types of drug injections, one for the pain, one for her anxiety, and another which I can’t remember what for exactly. Auntie Rita is on a drip too for her fluids, because if Auntie Rita drinks water it goes to her lungs now.

We are all shocked how quickly Auntie Rita has gone downhill so quickly. Last week she was conscious, and up in a wheelchair talking to everyone. Mark Auntie Rita’s other son is now here in Adelaide, with his wife who is also called Rita.

We just feel so helpless right now.

My Auntie Rita.

As I’ve mentioned briefly before, my Auntie Rita is very ill. She has terminal cancer and hasn’t very long to live at all. The doctors don’t think she will live to see Christmas next month. Right now my Auntie Rita is at her home, with my Nan, Auntie Stella, Jeff (Auntie Rita’s son) looking after her. Auntie Rita’s other son Mark is coming over on the weekend from Queensland, where he lives right now, because of how ill my Auntie Rita is right now.

Went over to see Auntie Rita on Tuesday, and she looked worse than what she did on Friday, when I helped Mum take Nan food shopping. It is quite distressing to see my Auntie Rita like this, because she is in so much pain all the time, she has pain killers. The drugs make my Auntie Rita hallucinate at times, and she can’t remember family anymore. In fact a very good friend of Auntie Rita came round on Tuesday as well, and they have been friends for years. Auntie Rita sadly didn’t know who she was.

On Friday depending how everything is, Mum and I are taking Nan out shopping for some more food to stock up on. I admire my Nan on how well she is coping with it all, but then again I’ve always known my Nan is tough. My Nan got my Mum through the hard times with me when I was a baby.

Ratdog’s Diary.

This is just a little entry of the week I have had so far.

Sunday the 11th of November.

My Nan and Auntie Stella arrived from the UK to go and stay at my Auntie Rita’s house, and nurse Auntie Rita. My Auntie Rita is very ill at the moment.

Monday the 12th of November.

I went out shopping to buy some new sandals, because it is now into summer and I need to have some sandals on my feet.

Tuesday the 13th of November.

Errol the kitten arrived home. He is 8 weeks old and has had part of his tail removed, as the result of having a can of food thrown at him, by his previous owners.

Friday the 16th of November.

My Nan, my mum and I went shopping for food to take back to Auntie Rita’s place. Saw Auntie Rita and my Auntie doesn’t look very well at all. My Auntie Rita has cancer and is bed ridden, and is in a lot of pain. Its very sad to see my Auntie like that, but my Nan, Auntie Stella, and Auntie Rita’s son Jeff are looking after her all the time.
